We want digital printing to be more environmentally friendly!

Digital printing by Semios

The Semios Rennes agency was awarded the Imprim’Vert label for digital printing.

This is proof of Semios’ commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its manufacturing process.

Semios has specific expertise in digital printing. We use digital printing for a wide range of projects: decoration, facade and window displays, vehicle wrapping, signage, etc.

Digital printing provides a high quality result that is extremely long lasting.

However, this technique requires the use of products that have an impact on the environment. The Imprim’Vert Label aims to reduce this impact while raising employee and customer awareness of the processes involved.

What is the Imprim’Vert label?

Imprim’Vert promotes the implementation of actions by printing companies that help reduce the environmental impact of their business.

The Imprim’Vert label was created in 1998 by two professional associations, the Chambre de Métiers et de l’Artisanat du Loir-et-Cher and the Chambre Régionale de Métiers et de l’Artisanat du Centre. The Pôle d’Innovation de l’Imprimerie (P2i) took over responsibility for the label in 2007.

Imprim’Vert has developed gradually and has acquired national and even European coverage since 2008.

The Imprim’Vert criteria

Companies that have been awarded the Imprim’Vert label must meet a number of criteria:

  • Compliant disposal of hazardous products: waste is collected by approved collectors and disposed of in accordance with regulations,
  • Secure storage of hazardous liquids: the printing company must securely store new hazardous liquids and liquid waste, whether in use or not,
  • Non-use of toxic products: the company undertakes not to use any products labelled “toxic” (skull and crossbones symbol),
  • Raising environmental awareness among employees and customers: Specific internal communication around Imprim’Vert® is encouraged in order to raise awareness among all employees. Companies whose main activity is digital printing must implement company-specific environmental awareness actions aimed at their customers,
  • Monitoring the site’s energy consumption: introduced in 2010, this criterion aims to raise awareness among printing companies of their energy consumption. To achieve this, the company must monitor its energy consumption on a quarterly basis and submit the results when renewing their certification.
